What is PT-141?
PT-141 is a cyclic heptapeptide derived from Melanotan 2, differing by the absence of the C-terminal amide.
Mechanism of Action
Unlike vascular-acting compounds, PT-141 acts centrally on MC3 and MC4 melanocortin receptors in the hypothalamus, modulating neural pathways involved in sexual desire and arousal.
Research Applications
PT-141 is studied in research on sexual-desire disorders and melanocortin signalling in the central nervous system.
