What is IGF-1 LR3?
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an 83-amino-acid analogue of human IGF-1 with an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension.
Mechanism of Action
These modifications greatly reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins, increasing bioavailability and extending half-life to around 20–30 hours compared with minutes for native IGF-1. It activates the IGF-1 receptor to drive PI3K/Akt and MAPK signalling.
Research Applications
IGF-1 LR3 is widely used in cell culture and in research on muscle hypertrophy, satellite-cell proliferation, protein synthesis and tissue growth.

Supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for maximum stability. Store unopened vials at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe appropriate to your study protocol.
