What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex) is a tripeptide first isolated from human plasma. Its concentration declines with age, and its high affinity for copper(II) ions allows it to deliver copper to cells involved in regeneration.
Mechanism of Action
GHK-Cu modulates the expression of a wide range of genes associated with tissue remodelling. Studies report increased synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans, along with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity and stimulation of wound-healing processes.
Research Applications
GHK-Cu is widely used in dermatological and cosmetic research—including skin firmness, hair-follicle and wound-healing models—and in studies of age-related changes in gene expression.
Storage & Handling
Supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for maximum stability. Store unopened vials at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe appropriate to your study protocol.
